Creating Inclusive Experiences: TeachersForAll at the Sensorial Theatre in Iquitos

Updated: Dec 11, 2025

TeachersForAll had the privilege of participating in a deeply meaningful event: a Sensorial Theatre experience organized by the Red Mundial de Jóvenes Políticos in Iquitos. This unique initiative was designed to bring the world of theatre to life through sound, touch, scent, and imagination—making the performing arts accessible beyond visual perception.

Our CEO, Lucía Ruíz, proudly served as the main host of the event. With her leadership, the experience was specially crafted to engage our children with visual impairment, offering them the opportunity to fully immerse themselves in a performance tailored to their diverse sensory abilities.

For many of our kids, it was their first time participating in an event like this—one that honored their sensory strengths and invited them to explore stories in a way that felt natural and empowering. Their reactions—smiles, curiosity, laughter, and wonder—reminded us why inclusive experiences in the arts matter.

But the event reached beyond our classroom. The presence of the general public served an important purpose: raising awareness about the need for accessible cultural spaces. Attendees witnessed firsthand how creativity and empathy can open doors, challenge assumptions, and build a more inclusive community for all.

At TeachersForAll, we believe that every child deserves the chance to enjoy the richness of art, culture, and human connection. This event was a powerful step toward that vision. We extend our gratitude to the Red Mundial de Jóvenes Políticos for their collaboration and to everyone who attended and supported this beautiful initiative.

Together, we continue working toward a world where every child—regardless of ability—has the opportunity to learn, explore, and belong.
